Janet Finger
2012
Janet was elected not only by our traditional method, but also including for the first time the input of the company’s Facebook followers. Everyone who was involved with her election keyed on the same virtues: work ethic, selflessness, professionalism, knowledge and excellence.
It is the fact that Janet is the prototypical Merchandiser that earned her the title of Employee of the Year. She did not take part in a big project as all of our past EOY’s had—she is simply so good at what she does that everyone wishes we had hundreds more like her.
Maryann Martini
2011
Maryann was the first Merchandiser to be voted as the Gardenvision employee of the year, recognized mostly for her hard work and dedication during the Greenworks remerchandsing project. Maryann proved that she was a capable and complete Retail Merchandising Professional during the 2 month long project, and was credited in large part with Gardenvision's success in 5 of the stores that we remerchandised.
Patty Bullard
2010
Our only two-time winner, Patty was voted as our Employee of the year in 2010 because of the powerful impact that the Certified
Merchandiser Program had on the company and its employees.
Although she had been working on the program for well over a year, building it from the ground up,it was in 2010 that it was deployed to
the company's personnel. It was an immediate hit, with almost half of the Merchandisers volunteering their time to sign up and to pursue
the extra training. Although she was honored in this year, her contribution will live on for years to come.
Matthew Ray
2009
Matthew was chosen due to extraordinary contributions to the company that went well beyond his duties as a Supervisor, including having
developed this website--a task that required him to first learn how to develop a website, and then to apply his new found
knowledge.Unfortunately for us, Matt was so well received that he was stolen away and now works for the sales team at Costa Farms
Patty Bullard
2008
Patty proved herself as being someone for management to keep an eye on in 2008 by blazing new trails for our company with IKEA and in
developing a service model to support their plant and pottery sales. Although that opportunity has come and gone, Patty continues to have
an impact, now serving as the company's Personnel Development Manager
Brigitte Bell
2007
Brigitte took over one of the toughest markets we have ever dealt with and turned it around within six months. Her passion for
merchandising and insistent leadership drove her entire team to strive for more. As a result, that market is now one of the easiest to work
in, and shows sales growth year after year.
Bruce Wisener
General Manager
As the General Manager of the company, Bruce sees his role as providing feedback and guidance to his corps of experienced and capable managers. His management philosophy is simple; to achieve great results, his first priority is to be sure that he has excellent people in every management position, his second priority is to be sure that everyone in the company understands what is important and where the company is going, and his third priority is to be available to the management team while staying out of their way.
Most people describe Bruce as intelligent and understanding, and a pretty nice guy to boot. He has been involved with every kind of retail imaginable, from fund-raising sales for non-profit charities to working for and with some of the largest companies on earth. The result of his experience is that he understands that the retail customer is the only piece of the puzzle that matters, and that merchandising and merchandising service must always keep the consumer in mind if there is to be any hope for positive impacts on sales.
Bruce is the happily married father of two young children. He and his wife Gloria enjoy any kind of travel or outdoor activity together, but he has a special place in his heart for fishing, which by his own admission he could do every day. Gloria is originally from Cali, Colombia –a fact that has resulted in an added benefit for Bruce as he has come to speak passable Spanish as Gloria and he have taught their children to be bilingual. He and his family live in Palm Bay, Florida.
