At Gardenvision, chosing our employees of the year is serious business. Every year in November, the process begins with nominations from Supervisors for the one person who they believe deserves to be named as the most valuable person in the company. The submissions might be as simple as a laundry list of accomplishments, or as extravagant as a video presentation. Regardless, each Supervisor makes a case for his or her nominee.

The General Manager then chooses three finalists from among the submissions. The choice is never easy as everyone who is nominated deserves to win. As a result, every nominee is entitled to wear a special Star pin on his or her nametag in recognition of their accomplishment.

The Senior Managers at the company then vote on the three finalists, and the person receiving the most votes becomes our Employee of the Year. They are then invited to the National Meeting of our parent company, where they are presented to all of the company's managers and awarded a plaque and check. Please take some time and read about our past winners.

Janet Finger

2012

Janet was elected not only by our traditional method, but also including for the first time, the input of the company’s Facebook followers. Everyone who was involved with her election, keyed on the same virtues: work ethic, selflessness, professionalism, knowledge and excellence.

It is the fact that Janet, is the prototypical Merchandiser, that earned her the title of Employee of the Year. She did not take part in a big project, as all of our past EOTY’s had—she is simply so good at what she does, that everyone wishes we had hundreds more like her.
